Founded in 2005 the Vail International Gallery is well known for exhibiting a range of contemporary and historic work from diverse genres.  The gallery focuses on museum quality works by twentieth century masters and emerging contemporary artists from the United States, Europe and Eastern Europe.  Each year the gallery opens two to three solo exhibitions of contemporary art in our stand-alone gallery space located directly behind our primary storefront location.  The gallery has exhibited at prestigious fairs in Miami during Art Basel week and at art Art Aspen.  In addition to its focus on contemporary work the gallery is particularly well known for its pioneering representation of art from the former Soviet Union.  Our expertise in the field of Russian and Soviet art has led to major sales of works by Yuri Pimenov, Tair Salakhov, Ilya Repin, Tatiana Yablonskaya, Nikolai Timkov, Fedor Zakharov, Andrei Mylnikov, and many other famous Russian artists.  Our location in the spectacular Rocky Mountains lends itself to an emphasis on art relating to nature and society's relationship with the natural world.
