American artist Stuart Loughridge comes from an artistic family. He is the son of the well known woodblock artist Leon Loughridge and it just may be that he has art in his DNA. Aside from learning at his father’s side, Stuart honed his skills at the renowned Atelier in Minneapolis, a school famous for its devotion to classical methods of art education. At the Atelier he distinguished himself in both the genres of Still Life and Landscape. Since graduation he has built a devoted following of collectors and continued to win prizes and exhibit in the Minneapolis area. In 2005 he was named one of “Young Upcoming Artists to Watch” in the 21 under 31 issue of Southwest Art.
